Welcome to Franklin Street Community Garden!
This project is sponsored by City Light Christian Fellowship, a local church in Waynesboro Pennsylvania. One of our goals as a church is to help serve our community and its residents.
In a society where folks are often lost in the cyber world, we are prone to drifting away from more holistic connections with nature and the people around us.
We think that a gardening project is not only a great chance for folks to experience working with the soil, but also to serve as a community revitalization project where town people can come together, make connections, and build relationships with each other.
It was brought to our attention that Franklin Street Park, situated behind the Water Works Car Wash, was an unused resource. After presenting our idea to the Borough Town Council, we are excited to have it approved!
We welcome people of all ages and walks of life. This is your chance to get involved in a low-cost, low-stress opportunity to grow your own food! Whether you are already an experienced gardener, or have never even got your hands dirty in the soil, we invite you to join us this summer!
